Payback to an inconsiderate sled
Yesterday on the Floatilla, I was first to reach sled alley. There were tons of them. It screwed up my chances of fishing any of those stretches with my boat. At least I was able to float through and give people in front a chance to do a few casts on way through. I tried to give room for the sleds to come and go as they pleased, so I hugged the left side of the river. All the sleds were anchored in middle of river and either running lures right behind boats or casting to right side. I had quite a few of these guys blowing up the river and trying to swamp me. Had some hug within 5 feet of my cat when they had tons of room in the river.
Well.....some guy with a nice new northriver blew by me pretty fast, then turned back up river. It was fun riding his wake, but rude nonetheless. Well, he turned around again, and was stuck behind me (by this time I had hit a narrow part of the river, and no room to come around me since I was close to the anchored sleds and shore). This guy in the Northriver was revving his motor (I was thinking I was at a stoplight on the road). I assumed he wanted me to pull off to the bank so he could fly by me. Well, he was a bit to overbearing, and when he revved up his motor he was in a little shallower water then he assumed. You could hear the tings and tangs of rocks being sucked into his impeller. Guess what happened????? You got it, he chewed up his impeller bad. He had NO power, I mean zilch. His boat wouldn't move at all. Luckily he had a little kicker on his boat, but it was a long way from where we were to the pullout at the highway bridge. It's nice to see paybacks happen.........

PS, I'm in no way a sled hater, I have one myself. I just hate people who abuse them.
