Default Sand Island/springers-worth a go?

Looking for something to do this weekend and was thinking about drowning some kwickies around sand island. Is it worth dragging the boat from Beaverton this early in Feb.? Anybody fished this area yet this year.

Thanks

I'd pull my boat that far and farther just to feel comfortable with have my own boat to fish from. If your talking about Sand Island down by Tongue Point, I'd take a good look at the weather . . . it can get nasty real fast down there.
