alsea river questions
This is a great board. I like the fact that most of the questions get answered. Maybe someone could help me out. On Saturday I am going to put my Waverunner in at Cozy Cove. I am hoping to make it up to Barclay's. Does anyone know if there will be enough water to make it there? I am not going to stir up the water, I just like to have a little fun if the fishing is slow. Maybe some of you have seen me put my waverunner in at Moonshine when the water is up. Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: alsea river questions
I am moving to the Waldport area, this week. I will check in to it within a week or so..as things are going to be hectic...I understand that Kozy Cove has recently been sold..and is opening under new management.

Re: alsea river questions
Should be a long slow ride up to barclays as most of it is 5mph in front of the docks. As far as Moonshine goes i'm suprised you haven't been turned in yet. No jet pumps above Morgan park... Sal

Re: alsea river questions
Firetiger, I sugggest you read the boating regulations for the Alsea and the other coastal rivers. There are not jet sleds (pumps) allowed in the fresh water section of the Alsea. There will probably be several bank anglers fishing just before Barclays. Would not surprise me if one of them is packing some heavy sinkers or other types of lead.

Firetiger, I'll show you what Bill means if you just let me know when you will be up at Moonshine in your Waverunner next.

Re: alsea river questions
I am looking at the regulations right now. I don't see anything that says you can't run a jet ski up there. How many fish did you catch this weekend Mikie?

Re: alsea river questions
Hey firetiger, wise up. You are supposed to be looking in the BOATING REGULATIONS, not the fishing regs for those rules. I am really surprised that you didn't have some sort of confrontation @ Moonshine pulling that kind of $h*t. Not smart.

Re: alsea river questions
I figure this is just some immature joker trying to get a rise out of us fishermen, hiding behind a mask of sincerity. I highly doubt the guy has been anywhere on a waverunner, let alone Moonshine.
What are ya doing, Salmonator, reading over my shoulder as I type?

Re: alsea river questions
After reading through FT's posts, I think he's actually just trying to get a rise out of us. Nobody's that stupid...

I think it is a bored board joker. I've got some flies willing to contribute (kinda light, pointy)

Re: alsea river questions
Be nice Kwiky. I personally like a big nordic or a dart. I've got a 3 oz one just wating for some yahoo. You get the weight to really chuck it out there and it comes with a rather hefty treble hook. Puts a new spin on the whole idea of snagging something.

Re: alsea river questions
I am quite sure Firetiger is telling the truth. He did put his wave runner in at moonshine. What he neglected to tell everyone was that his wave runner is one of those rubber blow up type with a sea serpant head on it that his mommy gave him so that he does not sink in the bath tub while searching for his favorite fishing worm.
