Default Boat Showtime!

The Portland Boat Show opens Wednesday...
It may snow tomorrow, but that means more than enough water to float your boat by April's runoff.

Just an FYI... I called this morning to verify if they are still opening today and it is a go! Opening on time and regular hours!

I usually go to the show on the first day but since I come down from the Tacoma area I chickened out with the snow delays on the 5. I plan on going down tomorrow. Are the roads any better?

The main roads are clear for the most part... I would not let current conditions stop me from going...

Just an FYI - if you go into a Twinstar credit union branch they should have free passes for entry.

I told the wife we'd go maybe tomorrow. Does anyone care to share their thoughts on whether they think new and used boats will sell well in the next few years. It seems that boats are not selling as well as they once were. Just curious for more opinions

For me the best in show were the two North River off shore boats. I have never really been a fan of the North River off shore but these ones were sweet. They had all of the bells and whistles on them and finally....Rub Rails! Also, with the added rails on the dance floor the sides didn't seem to low.

The flat black paint was awesome but the 31' in grey is almost $300k with a full off shore electronics package......ouch!

Biggest surprise was this Stabicraft. I actually did not ever like these boats until I checked this one out. It's really a nice boat. Not like any of the cookie cutter pilot house boats you see so often. The cabin was awesome with really neat blue lighting. The fold down tables and seating were great as well.

If I was in the market for a 26' pilot house this would be a hard one to pass...

If I could have any of the boats at the show I think I would want this one. I already have 3 aluminum fishing boats so one like this would be a lot of fun.
