Camo paint job on rifle?
Does anyone have the name of a person or company who does camo paint jobs on rifles here in Oregon? No, I do not want to do it myself! (I know it is not too bad a job, but it's not my "thing".)
Any info would be appreciated.
Rusty

Re: Camo paint job on rifle?
Here is a picture of the XP stock I finished today. I am not a big fan of the style but he had shown me some pictures and this is what he wanted. Believe it or not it is actually harder to camo the smaller stocks.
Thanks for the intrest
Jason

Re: Camo paint job on rifle?
I am not getting service at home with my phone after the storm. I have called and they will be fixing it, but for now it would be easiest to get ahold of me by email. I will respond to the voicemails it just may be a few hours. I have to drive about 3 miles away to use another cell tower. Thanks for the responses.

Re: Camo paint job on rifle?
You can look up GreatWest Gunsmithing in Salem. They have a website and offer a few different coating products as well as various designs.

Re: Camo paint job on rifle?
Landshark, those are sweet. Wanna tell us how you did it? HS camo permanent, eh? Maybe when I decide to redo my shotgun, I will try that. The krylon was cheap, but it's not that durable.
How did you get that look? Stencils? Definitely tricked out, very impressive.

Re: Camo paint job on rifle?
When I start with the camo job, the first thing I do is hang the rifle/ pistol on a coat hanger from the ceiling or something so you can walk around it to paint. That way there is no touching it till it dries. The rest is pretty simple . I used some branches with small leaves( ferns work good) to use as the stencil. Put a base coat down and let it dry then hold the branch with leaves up and spray little areas in different angles using what ever colors you are using.Just experiment till you get your desired effect. The 44mag and 338 in the picture are both stainless so the paint will eventually wear off in spots . I just touch them up when that happens . On a wood stock the paint sticks real good. Maybe there is some better paint out there other than HS Camo? Like I said you might want to try on some paper till you get the "look" you want.
