URL posting question

Hey it used to be on the old board that you click to post a URL and when you clicked ok, you could enter alternate text so the URL would show up in the post as CLICK HERE

How do you do that here in the new board?
I'd like to post links with a description rather than the HTTP address.

Hmm... [code] tag is not working properly.

Enter

to create a link with alternate text that looks like...

I left out the trailing ] since the code would not show otherwise. Tried to list the code using the code tags but they're not working properly.

After insert the URL you have to click the switch editor mode before editing.

Try doing this:

Copy this link: http://www.yahoo.com/

Then paste it into the format as I descibed.

After you add the link to the message click the a/A button in the upper right of the screen above the smiley's.

Then make the = and ] edits and add your text.

Clear as mud? I will never be able to write an instruction manual.

In the upper right hand corner of the reply box is a


You will be using that.

First, go ahead and place your link.

http://www.winterhawks.com/ It will look that that.

Now click the Switch Editor Mode button. It should now look like this. (I added some spaces to make it work)

[ URL]http://www.winterhawks.com/[/url]

Now, replace the first bracket ] with an = and cap the end of the .com with a ]

Between the ] and the [/url] place your wording.

Should look like this.

[ URL=http://www.winterhawks.com]Winter Hawks [/url]

Which should give you this:

Winter Hawks

Once you have mastered that, you qualify for this link

Forget the "switch mode" ... just type what you want to display, highlight it, then click the icon above that looks like a blue circle with the chain at the bottom - paste the URL into the dialog box and hit enter. It really isn't that tough.
