Default Sand island/springers-worth a go?

Looking for something to do this weekend ( girlfriend is out of town). Was thinking about drowning some kwickies for springers off of sand island. Is it worth dragging the boat this early in Feb. Has anyone fished this area this year yet.

Thanks
Freak

The willie is out of shape, probably sand island too for a while.

Thanks CB. I forgot about the proximity to the Willy. Maybe Rainer area? Need to get out somewhere.

I think it'd be more fishing than catching, but a day on the river is better than a day in the office isn't it?

Fish-on,
The washington side might work. I believe most of these earlier fish are destined for the Willy though? Do you think there might be any fish moving through the St. Helens stretch?

Pith Pocket- I agree

FF,

Unfortunately, with the rivers running muddy, your best bet is to anchor up for some gators in the channel or just go to the Sportsman Show all 5 days

Fishing freak , you bet there would be fish mving through. Probably not in great #'s yet but there are a few. Just get shallow along the beaches and run kwicks.

Thanks for advice all. Might give it a go. Had difficulty starting my boat motor last night  Hope it was just flooded!

What about the possibility of fishing the mouth of the multnomah channel this weekend? Will the Willamette clear up enough to make it fishable with the dry days coming?
