Default Sportsman Show...worth the $$$?

I was thinking about going to the sportsman show tomorrow. Is it worth the money or should i stick to my private sports merchandise professionals (WalMart). Just doing some window shopping and was wondering if anybody that went could give me some info. Thanks

I attended the show today, and for all intents and purposes, it was like most of the rest of them. If you have specific items you're looking for, you might find a good deal, but you need to know the prices you can get at the stores before you jump into buying at the show. If you're shopping "blind", you may or not get a good deal. I was looking at kickers, rods and reels. I left with an new rod, some misc. tackle, and zeroed in on a new kicker that I'll be buying next week. (I decided to switch to 4 stroke after all and leave the 2 stroke in the garage).

It all depends on what your looking for, and how much free money you have to spend. If you just want to shop and buy what suits your fancy, it may be worth it. If you're seriously looking for specific items and know what you can get them for elsewhere, it's a good place to comparison shop.

LOTS of people. Get there early, move quickly, and get out. BTW - beware, one of the hunting dogs on display today couldn't tell the difference between the concrete floor and outside grass. Keep your eyes open!

I just got home from the show tonight. I really enjoy this show compared to the one at the convention center last month which just flat sucked. It is mostly the same thing from year to year, but I get to say hello to some old friends, and look at some new ideas in hunting and fishing equipment. Not a lot of bargains price wise, but fun to look at it all.

Boy pulled a couple trout out of the pond and the smiles was worth the price of admission.

I went today and yesterday.
Lots of good buys there! Look for the off
price stuff at the big booths (Fishermans and others.) The seminars are have lots of good info too.
Take your time and go slow.
Go back to look at stuff that was to crowded
the first time.
This year I will go about 3 or 4 times

Tomorrow, (Fri) I'm headed to cruise the show. Then Sat and Sun I'll be at Delta Park GI Joes (just across I-5 from the sportsman show). Come on over and say "hi" after you tour the show!

I went with guide Lance Deuth from Pacific Coast Tackle and his sidekick Nick tonight. I think it is worth the money. It was fun going with guides, as they know a lot of people and you learn a few things. They told me a while back to keep my eye out for a Fenwick glass rod for plugging. They happened to see a used one at a booth, and I picked it up for $30.00. That is about $70.00 less than a new one, so for me it was worth the trip. We'll see how the rod works Sunday. Food and beer is expensive there.

I give it two fins up. It beats the hell out of anything in Washington. Lots better than the one earlier at the Convention center. I only spent 450 at the show. Lots of new goodies. Braved a bad snowstorm to get home tonight. Cmon APRIL SPRINGERS. Why wasn't Ifish represented? I couldn't have found the booth anyways. Was lost most of the day. I needed of of those women in waders gals to guide me around.

Ifish isn't reresented because the booths are fairly expensive...Someone said about 400 bucks, and since Ifish is a free site, I can't afford to do that kind of thing.
I will be there, however, tonight at 776, by the womens bathroom, Dennis Stewarts (Salmon Masters) Booth. I'll be there from about 4 till 8. Thank you Dennis! Stop by and talk to him and I!
I'll be there tomorrow too, but just wandering around from the Northwest steelheaders booth, elsewhere.
Anyone know which booth Dave Schamp is in?
See you there!

Try $750.00 for a booth!
I used to have a one there every year.
Lots of fun, but hard to make money.
