Help with Media Center

My new computer has media center and I'm trying to make a slide show with music of our year.
First, what's the easiest way to organize my photos? I have adobe photoshop and organized a folder, but Media Center didn't recognize it. The tutorial says to save it in windows, but Adobe won't let me.I've been trying to just click on the photos in the order that I want them, but it gets very confusing. The other programs I have for photos are Corel and Kodak.

Second, when I get to adding music, am I able to shorten songs, blend/ fade to another tune? Or, is it only the whole song?

Am I trying to make something more advanced than what Media Center can do?
