Default How much wind??

Last night the wind blew like nobodys business in Garibaldi. The largest gusts I have ever seen. The motorhome was rocking, but what I didnt realize until this morning, that there had been enough wind to move my 23' Super Vee 90 degrees.

My sled was parked parallel to the motorhome, not on concrete or asphalt, but on loose gravel. When I opened the door, much to my awe the sled had moved and turned 90 degrees. This shocked me, as I didnt think the wind was anything out of the normal.

I cannot move the tongue of that boat trailer more than a few inches, and sometimes less, when it is close to the hitch it seems. So how high of a sustained gust would you estimate it takes to move a heavy sled like this 90 degrees from where it was parked?

The wind is still howling down here, I hitched the sled up to the truck last night and chained the hitch of the drift boat to the motorhome, now lets see if the wind can move anything. If we are going anywhere, I will be taking everything with me, in one big tangled mess.

yesterday was nothing compared to what tonight holds... I'd suggest you position your nose into the wind(SSW)... unless you really like being rocked to sleep!!

Blown here in Bend. Just watched a 55 gallon trash can go down the road five feet in the air. Waiting for the cows to go by anytime now!
