ifish thumbnail pic question

After I view an "attached thumbnail photo" and use the back arrow to go back to the thread, it either takes me to the top of the thread or the bottom of the thread instead of the post I was looking at.

Is this just the nature of the beast or is there a setting somewhere I can change? I will guess that it is just the way it works and will continue to annoy me.

Try this: Instead of using your LEFT mouse button to click and open it, try using your RIGHT mouse button. Right click on it, then click on "Open in new window". Once you are done viewing the picture, just close that window.
