HealthNet Rocks
My wife had the distinct pleasure yesterday of accompanying 400 needy kids from elementary schools in Tigard to a Holiday party put on by HealthNet. The party was in one of the Ballrooms at the Embassy Suites at Washington square, but was so heavily decorated, she described it as surpassing the old M&F Santa Land, it had become a Holiday winter wonderland. They had crafts for the kids to make gifts for others in their family, they had a huge array of food and treats for the kids, kind of like the Whoville feast, they had inflatable carnival toys that you climb and bounce on, Santa was there, the Grinch and other characters - she was just amazed at the outpouring this company made for these kids. At the end, every kid had something wrapped and ready to give to relatives, a nice mesh bag full of goodies, and individual unique wrapped gift for themselves - no two boxes looked the same she said, each topped with a Beanie Baby with tag protector. This isn't the first time HealthNet has done this either. My wife went on and on about all the fun the kids had and how excited they all were
Anyhow, HealthNet you ROCK my hat is off to your generosity. Think of it the cake charge alone had to be $4k, Beanie Babies, another $2k, food probably $6k, decorations, wrapping, staff time, supplies for 400 kids to make several crafts, a gift for each kid, probably another $6K
