Re: Nea .223
I got one a couple of years ago. You got a good deal because I believe my wife paid over $200 for it with her Blackbird (Medford sporting goods store) discount. I couldn't get mine to shoot and sent it back to the manufacturer. They sent it back to me with a target showing a 3/4" group, using Black Hills 69grn ammo. I may have scope issues. I have a couple of friends who own NEF rifles and swear by them. One of the neat things is that you can make that rifle a 22-250, 30-06, 45-70, or many other calibers by paying a few bucks for the extra barrel. Take a look at the hr1871 website.

Re: Nea .223
I have one (H&R ultra - same barrel) that's just getting broken in but it's shooting reliably well under an inch with wwb 45's, bh 53's and 55's, and half or less with 40 gr Nosler bt's over 27 gr of 748. I'm ready to see how it is at 200 or more too and I'll keep you posted.
One thing you can do if you want is send it to the factory for a $30 trigger job. They'll take it down to 3# and mine came back really nice.

Re: Nea .223
Hey, did you get that out of my gun safe? I have one set up the same way, same scope and everything. At least I think I do. Maybe my wife sold it while I was gone elk hunting, I will have to look when I get home. Mine shoots great with reloads. I just don't use it enough.

Re: Nea .223
Mine was a .223 tapered Bull barrel w/ lamanate coffee stock.
It shoots awesome, ragged holes at 100 & loved 50gr Speer TNT's.
My brother has it now and keeps it by the back door for yotes.
My only complaint......the trigger sucked. I worked it over though and brought it to 2lbs. Made a world of differance in shootability.
