Default Racquetaball anyone!

That time of the month again - Holiday Classic at Griffith Park YMCA Dec 6th through the 10th.

Event Web Site http://www.r2sports.com/tourney/disp...y.asp?TID=1723

Again the best of the NW (and Hawaii) will be on hand playing for money in the men's open singles - huge names, like Jimmie Lowe, Jeff Stark, Charlie Pratt, Dan Darling, Dan Sheppick, Chadd Westwood - just to name a few. Best matches are always around lunch and dinner time, some of the first round matches tonight are sure to be barn burners.

Personally my partner and I engineered one of the greatest come from behind victories I've ever been on the winning side of - Down 12-3 in the first game to 15, took one time out, changed our strategy caught them at 13, they managed to get to 14 were we broke both serves - one out of your mind what the heck are you doing running and nearly diving into the wall to get a wide angle wrap around save and turned into a right side, splat role out moral buster. I ended up serving the winner 1/2 lob managed to get to his passing shot for a right side pinch winner. We never looked back in game 2 giving them a 6, three of which they scored in a last ditch effort at 11-3, they never got to serve again.

Come on out and watch

Yes, we started Weds. night - play will start around 3pm today. I edited the post above to provide the event web site for the draws and results and schedule. The big matches in Open will be tomorrow (Saturday for the most part)

There's better matches than mine to watch - both of my next matches are Saturday 11am (30+ Doubles - Culin/Boyle vs Dato/Shaw) and 4pm (Men's A - Culin/Stalley vs Pisaneschi/Reyes)

Yeah, but I don't know them...I've played in tournaments in Cali and watched the open pro guys...they are very exciting to watch!

I may swing by this afternoon to take a look...

Thanks for the info!

Yeah, but you REALLY don't want to see that!

I got back in town at 1:30 AM, and have been drinking and gambling in Vegas for almost a week. Oh yeah, I'll be in rare form!

Hey Ted:

"one out of your mind what the heck are you doing running and nearly diving into the wall to get a wide angle wrap around save and turned into a right side, splat role out moral buster. "

What I want to know is if they have fixed the body divits in the court wall yet after your rhino-charge impression. I need to know what court to stay out of!

Stick is right though, is is impressive to watch those good players. Even if you have played little RB or maybe not for years, it is really amazing to watch how they can cover the court so effortlessly while hitting the ball so effectively.

That is opposed to someone like me, who does an impression of a headless old chicken, running every which way (seldom the right way) and then slapping the racquet at the ball with all the effectiveness of a sleeveless piston but with the power to make kittens shudder!

Still fun though...

Fix the wall - heck its harder than my head - and see I left some good mojo in court 1 for you from the day before.

Hog went went for 1 for 1 last night, I'm sorry I missed your second match, but I think I was a bit busy being the people person - I get to deal with all the who have complaints - if you know me at all that is always a short conversation and I have no people skills.

I missed many matches last night (working for free don't ya know), but did catch a barn burner in Open Doubles that a couple buddies of mine were playing in they lost 11/10 in the Tie breaker - an emotionally charged Dan Darling is not to be missed - he is almost better entertainment than the first warm day in May at the Williy park boat ramp

I'm up at 11 today, I'll have to see if I show up. I will be pumped but drifting from various states of mind.
