Default Polar Express

This evening we took my daughter for her 7th birthday to Hood River and rode the Polar Express train ride.

the express part was kinda overrated, since the train did about 20 MPH.

It was fun though.

Fun couple hours for the kids, as when we got to the Northpole Santa got on the train and rode back with us, sitting each kid in his lap and talking to them. The carol singers were fun, hot chocolate and cookies were pretty good also

Pretty wholesome fun for a family.

Ted, we bought tickets months ago. I suspect they are sold out, but I dont know since the wife was in charge of the operation.

I had a bag of sand for you at the X-mas party, you didnt show up. maybe next time.

I was talking with the other couple with us when we first pulled out of port. It was dark and I couldnt tell which direction we were headed. I asked him if he thought we were going East or West in the gorge, with all the stopping and going and turning, it was hard to tell which direction we were headed when it was dark outside.

My son informed me were headed North, we were on our way to the Northpole

It doesn't matter which way you are going for little ones, the train is always headed to the Northpole. We may have to look at this next year - but it maybe the last magical year for our youngest. In about three days Santa hits the air waves, W6S straight from the Northpole. How he finds time to get on the air and talk to kids just amazes me. The kids eyes really light up when they get to talk to Santa on 20meters. How he knows their names without the kids saying anything from year to year has me guessing

Roy, tried to make the Christmas gig and I appreciate your effort. Erin came down with a stomach bug and came home from school that day. Lets just say she passed her big white bus driving lessons. The rest of the house had it over the weekend, so I figured I was next and decided to leave our bugs at home.
