Default duck bands

If ya'll remember, I posted that I shot two greenheads with bands in the same day a couple weeks back.
I just got my info on them.
If you care here it is.
1st greenhead banded 05 born 04 or before. banded in fairview alberta.
2nd greenhead banded 06 born 05 or before. banded in contacosta lake 14 miles east of hannah alberta.
I was impressed that my first bands were both northerns. Especially since sauvie's island puts out so many local bands.

Not care??!!

It's neat to hear how old the birds are and where they were banded.

Thanks for sharing

Thanks for the info. I think the "bling" really adds to the experience!!! NOT that I would know, 30+ years of waterfowlin'....NO BANDS

It's cool to think about the birds journey.

Thanks again!

That's cool info! I got a bunch when hunting the mississippi flyway and sent alot of the bands back, not thinking to just send the #. When I realized you could keep them, I started putting them on my call lanyard. Is that the common practice in the west also? I put the green cards they send out in a scrap book with all my hunting/fishing licences, duck stamps, ramp permits, camping permits etc. Pretty cool to look through it once in a while.

Thanks for the info.... I love bands. Most of those ridgefield if shot at SI were probably banded on the Island. They have a list at the east side check station if you get them there. All 4 of my bands this year came back ridgefield but were actually banded at sauvies earlier this year.

Delevan? I was just in that vicinity over Thanksgiving (with Hank and Howard)!

Curious to know when that bird was banded Brett?! Kinda odd to get one banded in Cali - up here, no? Makes me wonder if they tagged it in the spring before it migrated north, or perhaps it was a reverse migrator?

Congrats to all of you that have scored bands this season - especially those enjoying your first! Think of how cool it'll be once you get your second - they'll actually 'clink' on yer lanyard!
