Thumbs up 2007 Oregon Tuna Classic, Nice Job!

I didn't want to take away from the official OTC Info thread with my meager comments, but

WOW!

I have to say I am very impressed with the 2007 OTC format, rules, prizes, planning, and commitment from the OTC Board to make next years event even better!

I am really looking forward to participating. The new tournament guidlines are extremely attractive, and really seem to even out the playing field.

So I say "GOOD JOB" to the OTC Board! See you there!

Boatdog,

Your sentiments are very much appreciated.

Here's a few of the crew that has worked so hard to put this on for you.

Del Stephens (Tunadog) - The king of sponsor generation! Del also is key in decision making, and is the one that has really put this on the map.

Bud Hosner (Seelicious)- The man who started this whole thing, and doesn't know the word "can't".

Chad Beatty- (5 for Fighting)- The guy who made coordinating this thing from a practical and monetary standpoint a breeze.

John Stanfield- Non-Ifish? - Regional Director for Ducks Unlimited. John gave this group of ragtag dreamers the tools and direction to actually make this happen.

Dick Crossley Non-Ifish "Tuna Time"- Dick sponsored the first year by basically taking care of the BBQ (Tillamook Country Smoker), helped logistics in Garibaldi, helped decision making, and basically has been a rock for us. Dick continues to be a key behind the scenes guy.

Doug Christie- Non-Ifish- Doug has been there every step, his business donating trucks, totes, time, and trouble to help make the logistics end of this actually work.

And now the addition of Bob Stacklie (Odin), who promises to be a great addition.

There are tons more that could be thanked, including sponsors, support people, and many others.

So, anyhow, if you run into these guys give them a handshake and realize how hard they are working for the benefit of both those in need, and the participents to have a good time.

Mike

Y'all know that....there are some other reasons that this really evens out the odds......in addition to....not worrying about high numbers of fish but simply the 5 biggest....

The prize could go to a boat that has....let's say.....a shorter range than the "highliners."

Anyone care to guess.... why ??

Pop quiz!!!

The bigger ones are closer to the blue green line.

Team Reel Water Addict (RWA) will be set for Astoria.
How about a little side wager with "Team Odin"?
Can't wait!!

Well Kevin, we have 8 months to come up with a special bet for the Ilwaco Den of the CR Pack, of the Salty Dogs.

Maybe a bet between the 6 CR Ports/Dens (Astoria east, Astoria West, Warrenton, Hammond, Chinook, and Ilwaco.

Maybe between CR pack , Newport/Depot pack, and Tillamook. OOOOOO the possibilities.

Bob

Can you say "Green water Hogs"?
I think that's what you're referring to Mark......
