Default Christmas Light Viewing

My brother and I and our wives started a family tradition several years ago of driving around town the weekend before Christmas to look at houses garbed in Christmas decor, hot chocolate in our mugs, and Christmas cheer in our hearts!

Ever since moving to the Metro area a few years ago, our viewing satisfaction has plummetted - houses that really go all out seem to be few and far between. I was wondering if anybody could recommend a specific neighborhood or even just a general area to start looking? I'll probably even do a little pre-outing scouting!

Thank in advance - hope everyone is enjoying the Holiday Season!!!

Our Canby neighborhood is pretty good, people get pretty creative (takes me 3 days to do our house outside). We even have horse drawn carriage rides around our neighborhood for viewing. I live on the south side of town in Township Village off of Township Road if your interested.

What about the drive-through out in the community of Roy, West of Hillsboro - - 'anyone know if they're still doing that? I tried to find some detail online and "struck-out." Don

The multi-neighborhood light display in Keizer is still as big as ever. Easy to get to off of I-5 also. SG

Check with the Horsebrass Pub over on Belmont. They do horse drawn wagons through Peacock Lane. We have done big groups a couple of times.

Yes, yes, yes, if you only go to one this is it. Its about a 40 min drive from portland, plan on an hour at least to see it all, block after block after block. Peacock Lane x 50

I've gone through the Keizer light display every year since the origination. Since I live only a mile or so from it, it's really easy for me to hit it without a lot of traffic. While it used to be quite the display, the last two years it has really gone downhill with last years being well below par. Not to say that it wasn't good, it's just not what it once was as the participation seemed to be way down.
I'll drive through tomorrow night after fishing and give a report back.

I was thinking about hit PIR or the Zoo lights. If you had one choice, which one would you choose?

Yeah that Keizer display is really big......I remember going to that back when I went to high school/middle school over there. Pretty crowded back then, im sure its much worse now....better get there right at dark or real late.
