Saturday I hit a sw wash trib in search of steel...rushed home at 1:45 to head to portland and once there noticed my wallet was missing...no biggie, left it at home

But after a mega search in the dark at 8pm, it was obvious I had lost it somewhere on the system. I immediately spent the next hr trying to cancel credit, and atm cards, just renewed my drivers license on thursday, and paniced about idenity theft, my SS # in the wallet and my Fishing license

..yada yada yada, and have been worried sick.......

Today I come home only to find my wallet intact, with a nice annonymous message leaving the goods in my mailbox

Thank-God!!! Who ever you are, thank-you. I sure wish I new who you were and could repay your kindness...in todays world I literally expected the worse.

Chances are you will never see this but I am so relieved to get the info back, pictures, etc.

There are still lots of people like that around, last month i lost a company check, while taking a lunch break, next day, i received a call from the person who issued the check to come and pick it up.
A good samaritian had found the lost check and called the issurer.
that kind deed saved me a 100 dollars out of my back pocket.

Your one lucky fellow, to have it returned. BUT not saying its safe yet!!.. Could be honest Or not. Copied info, then returned to you.

Keep tabs on your Credit, for next 6 months. If that person did not photo copy all info.

OH, GET YOUR SS# card out of WALLET!!!!!....
That goes for ALL folks. Memorize it, stuff in shoe box at home. They will steal that, duplicate it in many shapes & form.

Just to be safe, dble check Your Credit. keep tabs on it.

Least you got it back, safe... time will tell.

I can't imagine someone who took the time to make sure you got everything back safely would steal your personal information. Anyone wishing to get your personal info from your wallet would have taken it and thrown what they didn't want away, they wouldn't take the time to deliver it to your home.

Glad to hear it. These stories are just not as news worthy as the "bad" ones.
I got a flat many years ago around Roseburg, a fellow stopped and took me to get a new tire, then took me back to my truck and helped me put the tire back on. I gave him some $ for his troubles, he gave it back and said that I should, "Remember this and to just return the favor when I could."

I agree John..I was fishing some 40+ miles from home, and I lost it where I never even saw one other angler for the half mile of river covered....The person that took the time to hand deliver my wallet to my door without compensation and anonymously is overwhelming.
faith in fellow man has been restored 10 fold!!

since SW is lay out stories here is mine. 20 yrs ago my wife and our 3 children were camping the summer across the west towing a little 2 wheel trailer. pouring rain, dark and somewhere in idahoe i came upon an unexpected corner and flipped the trailer. twisted the tongue and scattered everything we owned. a couple of cars stopped and then moved on and then came Mr. Hall and his son who on the spur of the moment had gone FISHING and were on their way home. He stopped and helped me get everything loaded and we were able to get the trailer towable somewhat. At that point i am thinking ok where do we hunker down for the night and get this fixed in the morning. Mr. Hall says follow me your staying at our house tonight and i will take no arguements. got to admit i was dazed and confused and follow him i did. got to his house and out come 3-4 more kid and his wife who took us in an dried us up and our kids spent the night in the house while my wife and i slept in the truck, our choice they wanted us to sleep inside also. in the morning he fixed the trailer and they fed my children and would have nothing to do with being payed. pass it on was what he said and i am still paying off that dept.
