Finding a PS3. HELP
I know this is a long shot but worth a try. If any of you run across one in a store or know how to get one at retail price. I refuse to buy one on E-bay for what they are going for. I will pay extra for it but thats just because your a Ifisher This is for my sons Christmas gift. He is a really good kid and has good beyond my expectations this year so, If any one has a new extra one lying around or sees one at a store and can pick it up I will pick it up that night and pay with cash and a finders fee. Thank's for your time.

Re: Finding a PS3. HELP
I am looking to buy one too. I have been told that if you use www.ps3seeker.com that you can find out the delivery days at the different stores. I plan on trying this site next payday. Let me know if it works for you. I know you have said you don't want to pay over retail but I have seen several of the 60gb ones advertised on craigslist for around $800. Good luck

Re: Finding a PS3. HELP
Craigslist. You're going to pay a premium of around $150 dollars for a 20 Gig PS3. I would skip it and get an Xbox 360. Lots more games to choose from, and they don't look any different then the PS3. All of the PS3 launch titles are direct ports of 360 games except for 2. Most of the ports don't play as well as they do on the 360, and plenty of reviews have backed this up.
In my opinion, Sony's console is in its infant state, and it's better to wait until next summer to really see what they have to offer.

Re: Finding a PS3. HELP
The Better Half just walked in with the 60GB version...
She was at the Toys R Us at Jantzen Beach and was in the right place at the right time. She was getting annoyed as two people asked an Employee about them while blocking the aisle, oblivious to people. She was about to blow her top about the aisle thing, when the employee announced they had 6 of them! So, she follows them over and scored!
She has talked about this thing for a year now, and she waited in about four different lines on release day.
I'm glad she finally scored! But I was trying to get her one for christmas too! Now I have to think of something else.

Re: Finding a PS3. HELP
The price difference is about $200 I think. The 20gb does not have the wifi.

Re: Finding a PS3. HELP
mandinga, have you looked around much for one? I have been close twice. Good luck and if get one I will try to get another one for you. I guess the 20gb one is 500.00 and the 60gb one is 600.00 I would think you can add the extra 40gb for about 100.00 or so??

Re: Finding a PS3. HELP
EBGames.com has them in bundles (comes with 6 games), but its spendy.
Amazon has them....but again....they're spendy.

Re: Finding a PS3. HELP
The High Def graphics make it all worth while. Both versions are Blu-Ray equipped and are HDTV compatable. Looks like Blu-ray is also the HD of choice for Disney and alot of other studios now.
Welcome to the next generation.
I dont know what it is with Macroflop koolaid drinkers in the NW. I bet some of those guys even went out and bought Zunes.
As for me, I'm going to wait until after the holiday to buy mine. Funny how those "Got to Have it" gifts (Cabbage Patch Dolls, Tickle Me Elmo) are suddenly a dime a dozen after the Holi-dunces are done running like lemmings.

Take it easy.
Um, you know everyone in the world wants one, and you know they are nearly impossible to find. I appreciate you wanting to do something special for you son, but really, that's not what Christmas is all about.
I would love to have one, too, but really, Im not going to join into that rat race.

Re: Finding a PS3. HELP
I wish you luck in finding one. I sure don't understand the marketing process behind the releases of these popular video games. It has been like this with the last few launches of them. It simply doesn't make any sense. They have done the studies, they know the demographics, they know the popularity, yet they trickle into the stores a few at a time, when you KNOW darn good and well that there are hundreds of thousands of them built sitting somewhere!! Sony and Microsoft aren't stupid. There must be a financial reason for it, but it doesn't make sense to those of you who want one.

Exactly. It creates a panic craze where it's a "gotta have" thing. Want to create demand, create a shortage.

Re: Finding a PS3. HELP
Well it looks like a PS3 has been found. Now, here is another question for all of you in the know. My kids want a Nintendo Wii. Is this product better/worse than than the PS3? It looks kinda cool to me with the wireless controls that mimic your body movement but I am NOT educated in this area. In thoughts and opinions would be appreciated. (plus any great ideas on where to buy one!!!

Re: Finding a PS3. HELP
Go to www.cnet.com as they do a head to head comparison there.
