Default Hogue Overmolded Rifle Stocks

Wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Hogue overmolded stocks? I am looking into maybe buying one of the full length bedded models for my new 700 SPS 300 Win Mag.

Would certainly appreciate any input.

Thanks,

Gary

I've got one on a 10/22 target model---I love it. No experience with hi-power applications.

I've got one on my Ruger M77 in 300 win mag. I love the stock, it feels nice in the hand. Mine has a wide forearm with a semi-flat bottom for bench adn bag work.

The forearm of the stock flexes easier than I would have thought it should. The rubber overcoating is a bit of a pain if any adjustments are needed to get a propper fit. I had to do a bit of sandpaper and Dremmel work to get the barrel floated and the floor plate to fit properly. It is a bit heavier than more expensive offerings.

Overall I would say its a good stock for the money.

Yes, they feel great. But they don't handle rough conditions very well without showing it. The rubber scuffs, snags and rips easier than I would care. If that doesn't bother you they are great function stockes. However, they are plastic...and no v-block.

I highly recomend the HS Precision v-block stock for a rem700 project rifle. money well spent. McMIllian also makes a sporter weight stock that I also like, although it's not quite as good as the HS v-block arrangement.
Have fun,
