Reception areas around Bend????
I am in need of some good ideas for a place to hold a wedding reception for about 200 people in the Bend area. No firm date yet...but It looks like middle to end of September. I have looked at the obvious places like Sunriver, Inn at the 7th Mountain, Wigi Creek, and the Riverhouse. All are a bit to spendy for the budget at hand. Anyone have any fresh ideas...I feel stalled.
Thanks in advance!

I will have to check with the girls' side of the fence...they live in Bend, but I don't think they have any ties like that. Thanks Baltz

Check out any of the Grange halls. They are simple but there is bathrooms and cooking available. The other important thing is, they are reasonably priced as of two months ago.
Redmond has one, Madras,Culver,Powell Butte and Prineville also.
Good luck.

That would be my recommendation as well, but I'm a bit biased as it's where I got married. You can book it through the Bend Parks and Rec department. They start taking reservations on January 2 and the dates in September fill up really fast so you want to be there pretty quickly. There will likely be a couple of hyper-organized brides-to-be waiting at the door when the office opens after New Years. There's room for a couple of hundred, there's a nice spot for an outdoor wedding in the Ponderosa Pines and an there's open, lodge style building with a big fireplace. The building has a catering kitchen, chairs and tables. And just to sweeten the deal, there's a stocked trout pond right next to the building and Tumalo Creek is just beyond the pond. The pond is restricted to kids under 12 (I think), but that didn't stop my groomsmen and the minister from helping the kids make a few casts! We had to make sure the groomsmen didn't face the pond during the wedding as they all would have been watching for trout rises. It's a great spot to get hitched!TF

Re: Reception areas around Bend????
Dang! It is already booked up. I had visions of 20 kids with snoopy rods actually enjoying a wedding reception.
Thanks for the tip though!

Check out the flying diamond ranch it is in Redmond. Also you may look into the metolius river area. I know there is a hall that can be rented and you can still get a fly wet. JUst some info for you.

Re: Reception areas around Bend????
I know you said Bend, but I was married last Sept. 30th and we held our reception at the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport. We had our ceremony up around Snow Peak, east of Scio and then drove to the coast. We had folks coming from all over the country. Well any way, the Aquarium turned out the the coolest place to have a party. We had 150 guest and it cost us $1100.00. The price included tables and chairs, set up and take down as well as clean up...

Re: Reception areas around Bend????
The Camp Sherman Community Hall , conveniently near the Metolius, can be rented, and is very scenic, but I don't think it can quite accomadate 200 persons.

Re: Reception areas around Bend????
I've been to a reception at Aspen Hall (listed on the parks website linked above). It was an excellent place. Very nice setting and plenty of room for lots of guests.
EDIT: Oops sounds like somebody already brought this up and it's reserved. It's a great place though.
