I have a GSP and usually a lab to but my new lab pup won't be here until March so I'm in between labs right now.
I keep both in a kennel and let them out an hour in the morning, an hour at noon, and a couple of hours when I get home. Before I fenced my 2 acre yard, I watched them every second when they were out. With the yard fenced, I keep an eye on them but not every second.
Micro chip your pup, get a kennel, and watch her like a hawk when she is out. They disappear in the blink of an eye.
Dogs shouldn't just roam. Too much trouble out there.
And congrats again on finding your pup. Most people don't get them back.
