Default GUESS WHO - Wheelstanding Sled - Family

In this first of 3 pics I am the one on the left with my feet almost in the water. It was springer fishing the Dog Creek hole below McKiver Rapids on the Clackamas River (mid 80's). Who can guess the other 2 Ifish members? The guy in the middle has more recent pics on this site and the guy on the right has the initials of G-B in his moniker. So, guess who? ....

This is the boat I said I would post a pic of Joe (Salmonator); earliest Koffler [extra] Lite prototype . This is the boat in my true "Wheelstanding Sled" story. The pic was taken at the old Wilson River Grocery during fall chinook season. ...

This is the coastal cove where we catch surfperch (secret place - but guess where if you like). It was the only pic I could find of my family that had water in the background and my beer belly wasn't sticking out . ...

The funny looking guy in the middle is Chris
Sessions. I think that must have been his Magnum P.I. stage.

That didn't take long! Yes Castaway, that is Gooey_Bob. Your prize is a date with him . jk .... And Jawbreaker, you know Chris; do I know you? Yes that is our AK guide Chris Sessions. If you would like to see how he looks more recently in shorter hair and beard, scroll down the Ifish homepage and on the left side under Alaska click on Chris Sessions guide service ad. He also guides in SW Washington. And Magnum PI? He does sort of look like Tom Selleck a bit. Needs the red Ferrari though. - Steve

Hey RT, if you go to Chris's website and scroll down to the 4th and 7th picture. I'm the guy with the sunglasses on. I haven't
met you yet but Chris and I were fishing for
springers on the Wind last spring and you were either having a bbq or at a bbq. I
look forward to meeting you. Chris has told me many great stories about you and him starting back when you lived in Aloha. Something about a swimming pool and some dirty dishes sound familiar. We should all
hook up and go fishing soon! jb

Rt
I will pass on the date with gooey bob. But only because I'm a guy. What is that red thing at the bottom of the motor in the middle picture. Looks interesting.

JB, I used to live in Cedar Hills, not Aloha, and now north of Cedar Mill. I must like cedar. Ah the memories - I can't remember the pool or dishes thing off hand. Probably would if I heard more details, but save them for now . ....

Cast', that is a 'Riffle Runner'. They used to be advertised for years in STS magazine but I rarely saw them around. And they worked pretty darn well too. It is a very strong thick fiberglass tunnel housing that bolts onto the cavitation plate. On a plane it sucks fairly green water up into the housing and thru the prop such that it gets 90+% of the normal power and allows mounting the OB up about 6" higher. Used on a flatbottom sled as I did enabled me to run onstep in about 8" to 10" of water with the skeg only occassionally ticking rocks. I was able to run most of the Clackamas in average winter flows no problem at all, and even some lower water in many sections. The latest I've heard is that they are now out of business, but I think STS may have the number of the guy who has the molds. It was a fun little machine. - RT
