Default BBQ crab recipe

I have talked to a couple ifishers who have never heard of BBQ crab before. I am posting my wifes recipe for others to try. We do a lot of crabbing and all the crab that doesn't get eaten hot out of the pot goes to BBQ crab, it is our favorite way to eat it.

Sauce
2 cans V-8 Juice
1 large can tomato sauce
4 stalks celery (chopped fine)
1 ½ medium onions (chopped fine)
1 green pepper (chopped fine)
tablespoon garlic
tablespoon salt
dash pepper
½ cup brown sugar
1 ½ teaspoons mustard
1 tablespoon soy sauce

combine all ingredients in a large stock pot, bring to a light boil, add cracked crab quarters. Simmer for an hour or so. Reheat next day for best results. Serve with crusty french bread. This batch size will accommodate about 7 or 8 crabs. After we eat the batch down we add more crab to the sauce for the next day.

Cracked crab quarters would be a cleaned crab (still in shell) broken in half and then each half broke into ½ again. This will give you either 2 or 3 legs per quarter. Before placing the crab in the sauce, slightly crack each leg section to allow the sauce to penetrate the crab shell.

If you think eating crab is messy at the table try it with tomato sauce dripping off the shell. It is very messy but also very tasty.

I'll vouch for you on this one, folks who like crab should try this recipe. I've got one that's very similar, and it's well worth trying if you've never had it this way. A little messy, but worth it!

Looks to me like Roy is trying to get us all fat, Some sort of conspiracy? Looks good Roy, I'm definately going to give it a shot when I next have some crab.
