An Appology .........
Allow me to appologize for putting up the adult humor joke thread. What I thought would be a little fun 'out in boat type' joking around, with clear warnings about the content and not to access if bothersome, it none-the-less still gets accessed by people it bothers; and is bothersome to some just by being there on a fishing board, which I understand now. ....
More e-mail has come in with concern about kids accessing and that it should be removed. Additionally, apparently one of our main advertisers/members is now uncomfortable linking to Ifish due to this thread topic being on the BB. So I had no choice but to remove it. And I also appologize to those who took the time to post a funny joke and to those following it that may have missed a few good jokes. There is only one person responsible and that is me. I won't put up another thread of it's kind. But I do hope in addition to fishing info we continue to enjoy funny camraderie here on the Ifish BB. Thanks for your understanding. - RT

Re: An Appology .........
Thank you, Steve.
And I know, all of you, that it is not fun to have your stuff deleted. I got a couple laughs out of it too.
I'm sorry, too, for any hard feelings, and I appreciate RT for his wealth of knowledge, and his wonderful sense of humor.

No hard feelings Jen, just wish once in a while adults could be adults!! Oh well, I suppose the disclaimer at the top of the thread just serves as a magnet instead of a repellent....

Re: An Appology .........
The real reason it got deleted was because the folks that kept emailing the emu jockey knew I was just getting warmed up. Not naming any names, backlash, but some of y'all wuz juss about ta fry..yessa. I know when I'm surfing the web and anytime I see a warning for a website, it just makes me double-click twice as fast Still though, I didn't see any big fuss over it this time.

Bummer RT, I was thinking about a good, relatively clean joke I could post but its too bad that the thought ****'s out there couldn't let us have a little fun. I think you're doing a stellar job and wouldn't change it. Keep up the good work.

Re: An Appology .........
Steve,
no apologie necessary as far as I am concerned. It just goes to show the old saying, cant please sll the people all the time. and another thing, I think we can blame the weather, if we had water we would not be sitting arround playing with our.....
computers, we would be FISHING

Re: An Appology .........
You know, I'm really getting sick and tired of people. It seems that the "moral majority" has domination over everything. Don't tell me, it was one of those "Christian" based groups, right? Hey Steve, I need to know which sponsor gave you the flack. I will be boycotting them. Is it ForestBay? Seriously, I want to know. I'm just really tired of the BS. There's no need for you to apologize Steve, you're just doing what you need to do. I did not see ONE joke posted that was borderline. Hell, I was raised listening to Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, and old Robin Williams so what was on the web was "G" compared to that. I'm glad I didn't post my Superman joke, they'd have a coronary. Sheesh, here we go all over again. I am really serious though Steve, if you won't post it here I'd like it through email.
Plus Steve, you put a disclaimer on that thread. There should be NO misunderstanding by anyone. If you read on from that point it's THEIR problem. Second off, if there was a "child" that was online without their parents guardianship then that parent should be at fault, not this BB. I personally feel that these "safety guidelines" for kids nowadays have made children so naive to the real world. I won't try to protect my kids from alot of these things, for it's life's lessons that make you a human. Protecting them from every misjustice makes them weak. If anyone wants to say No to that, look at the world in general. Man, this is just making my blood boil. I'm done......

Steve
Definetly no apology was necessary. If I knew the thread was going to be deleted, I would've printed it off so the wife could get a good laugh. If people didn't want to read it, then don't click on the topic. Simple as that.

Re: An Appology .........
Steve,
Just another voice of support. That was some damn funny stuff ! I laughed so hard at the cat - and I'm an animal lover- I think I hurt myself.
In our attempt to be "PC" we often go too far to the other side. Responsible adult activity, which this was, should not be diminished or censored by threats from corporate america. I have yet to see a sponsor on this board - other than Luhr Jensen - that couldn't be replaced by a better one. Just my .02 cents.
BTW, I had a feeling things might come to an end for this thread, so last night I saved it should anyone want a copy. There was some GREAT stuff there!
Humor is as important as water to maintain a healthy, functioning human. Keep up the good work Steve,
David.

BTW, I consider myself 'Conservative' and found the jokes to be very funny. My wife even laughed at them. It was good, fun, questionable adult humor. Just don't let the kids read it.

Re: An Appology .........
Steve I want you and your advertiser to know that since I am only 15 I was mature enough not to read that thread after reading the disclaimer.
Now a word for the advertiser...
If you think any of those jokes were too x rated for people under 18, you have forgotton your teenage years. What may seem like adult jokes to you are the norm at my high school (a catholic one), adult jokes were even the norm starting around 6th grade. (Oh yeah, Master Baiter, you would feel right at home in my school )
I believe 100% what steelheader69 said about sheltering children. Children need to be shown the real world. My generation is NOT going to have a thick skin because all horrible, disgusting, ugly things have been shuned away from us (NOT ME THOUGH ). What are these sheltered children going to do when they get into the real world?
Steve if you want my $.02 I say post the advertisers name or at least send it to me.
Thanks
Ian

Hey R.T. Toooo Baaad someone got their undie's in a knot . I really enjoyed the joke's on you're thread, they cracked me up. It's a sad day when the majority have to yield to the few. I think you're a top notch fishin junkie and a all around good egg. I'm behind you all the way in you're post's , I think whoever was a little offended or whatever should either crawl out from under their rock, or better yet get a grip . If they can't stand the heat, maybe we should have a deep six lesson, for the offended few,the alsea is really cold and I know a perfect spot-J.K.J.K. SEE YA MIKIE.

Hey RT, which sponsor was it that cried again? Probably that same one that doesn't have anyone visiting his site already. HogTide, I'll never lose interest as long as I'm never taken for granted. You have to pay good money for things this strange.

RT,
I have to agree I really didn't see any that were that bad. In fact some of them were down right funny. Besides my work mates were thinking I was going off the deep end laughing at the computer. To bad the few who complained couldn't follow directions when you said DO NOT READ if offended by adult humor.

Re: An Appology .........
Some of the biggest die-hard Elvis fans say that the biggest proof that Elvis didn't really die is that his middle name is incorrectly spelled on his grave marker (they used two "a's" in "Aaron" instead of his spelling using only one).
In light of this theory, is it really an apology when the alleged apologizer uses TWO "p's" instead of the correct one?

Re: An Appology .........
Wow, thanks so much for the supportive posts. Obviouly I agree with them, as does the majority here. I want to clarify that I wasn't sent a single plaintive e-mail. I only heard of a scant few second hand from Jen. As for the advertiser, I didn't get anything from them either. I won't post who they are (not corporate); they communicated with Jen, not me. Ironically, they have expressed to me before they appreciate some of my humor that could be considered a tiny bit off-color (such as my collaspsing potty chair in front of salmon charter boats story). ...
However, there is so much more about this great BB that we should now focus on. We can continue to be lighthearted and funny at times in addition to mainly having good fishing info posts. You are a great bunch! Thanks again. - Steve ... P.S.- Topic headings can't be edited for spelling mistakes like the posts can. So I am stuck with a mispelled 'Appology' on there. I apologize for that .

Re: An Appology .........
Darn! I missed almost ALL of the Jokes! Jen, if you really DO have copies, I'd love to see 'em!
After all... I'm a lifetime "Tom Boy" and have spent 18+ years in the Coast Guard... I just about DARE anyone to make me blush! (Torchman - you're disqualified! You know my secrets!)
Incidents like this remind me of the time I took my little sister into a Spencer's gift shop. There was a rack of "adult" greeting cards - she read every single one of them while shrieking indignantly at the content of each. (I laughed at that!!!) The next time I went in there was a big sign "If these cards offend you, DON'T READ THEM!"
Thanks for the humour, guys (and gals!). I really enjoy this list!
Love,
Rain
