Default Boating Permit?

I think i read a post a while back about needing a permit to take your boat out starting this year , True? Any info on this subject will be much appreciated. I have no problem getting it if i need to. Just want to keep it on the legal side if so.

Thanks in advance MD

I took my course at HERE. It's free and you can take it till you pass I believe. When you pass you print out a certificate and send it to Oregon Marine Board with $10.00 and they'll send you your card.

I took mine two weeks ago. no biggie. except I was a bonehead and paid 15 to take it.
Then paid the 10 bucks for the perminent card.
I got the card in the mail about a week later, way to go marine board.
Whatch out for this question though:

You see a white light and a green light at night while boating, and a train leaves chicago at the same time somebody is buried in Grant's tomb.
How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if he's anchored in traveled channel or waterway  ?????
