Default Springer Regs.

Need some clarification on springer regs in the Willamette... Let's say it's one springer a day, hatchery, native whatever.. I'm with one other person and I catch a fish, thump it and throw it in the boat.. Now, can I keep fishing? There are steelhead out there, right... So, what if I keep fishing and say if my rod goes down you grab it? That way, I really had no part of catching the second fish. Am I doing the wrong thing? Am I just supposed to put my rod away after the first fish? Would rather stay within the regs. than not be sure I'm legal....

Default Re: Springer Regs.

A couple of years back it was that way. Once you caught your fish, the rod goes away. However that was changed and the regs were re-written. You can still fish. I follow the procedure you discribed other than the guest always gets the first fish no matter which rod.

Since it should be 2 marked fish per day this year its not really an issue.
