OMC trouble

My partner just got a 84 SRV 260 Searay.
Took it out and lost forward and revers and lifting up the motor hood
we could smell rubber burning. Turns out he had put the wrong oil in the outdrive.
OMC electronic shift. We figure the smell was the coils burning out.
So can someone tell us of a good shop and what kind of $$$ we are looking at. PDX aria. Kinda feel bad for this guy, He worked hard getting this boat and just don't know how much cash he has on hand. Would like to help him out but man this just isn't the time of year I got alot of extra to pass out. Anything would be helpful. Walleyed
