Default American Turbine

I have read many post about different types of motor and pump configs. There is one type of pump motor config. I have not heard mention, American Turbine or Marine power motors, is it because they are bullet proof? I have this config on my 18.5' boat it and just wanted to hear the good... the bad... and the ugly.

So far no problems that I know about, grease the bearings, two of them. No cavatation unlike my buddys boat (Thunder Jet) with Kodiak stuff.

This is my first inboard jet and kinda of wonder, my last jet was a outboard and it really was bulletproof. Just a little filing here and a little grease there.

Marine power has a great motor and customer service. I did have a problem with the gaskets in their marine manifolds leaking. I called them and they sent out a better set of gaskets and detailed instructions on how to put them in. Good as new, took me about an hour. I've called them several times and they have always been extremely helpful and patient...

Thanks Salmon that is what I like to hear. You know you do all the research and take the plunge, hope you did all your homework right. Broke boat days are not good days.

Jet -

I had a Redline hooked up to an A.T. pump. I never had any problems with the pump other than a slow gasket leak around the housing - not A.T.s fault, rather the installers'. Never had cavitation problems, or anything else. It chewed grass up decently but not great. Thats OK, I'd rather have reliability.

Good luck,

Steve

Jet, I have a marine power 350mpi in my 21 footer. Fires right up every time. I also have thier three stage pump. Comes up on plane very quickly. With a loaded boat the Hamilton 212 may be a little better, Hard to say, I haven't been sledding long enough to have a definite opinion. Happy sledding!
