Missing IM's while on line

Lately I've missed some IM's (Instant Message from people while on the net) while out of the room. I get a number of them so let me explain how I am doing this thing here. I work part-time at home. I work our stock investments, do accounting for my older bro's business, and work on my book. I leave the computer/net on most of the day and often into the night when I am working. That's why I am on and off the BB so often, because I am right here doing other things while the net is left on (we have unlimited time plan). Since I leave my computer/net on, if someone IM's and I'm not in the den I don't want them to think I am ignoring them. It means I am out of the den is all. Just wanted you to know. Thanks. - RT

You spoke of working your stock investments -I do the same thing, and it really has become more work lately hasn't it? The easy money days are over for now, and constant vigilance and due diligence are required. I've been lucky during last years downdrafts and have some stocks that have preformed quite well and held their gains, but right now it's a landmine out there. No margin for me, and I'm even staying away from options for the time being.

I'm trying to talk my wife into letting go of a few shares of stock to buy a bigger motor and new kicker, but I'll have to work on her some more......maybe some more flowers at work will do the trick.

RT, I have this real nice program from BPS software called "PowerTools" It runs with Aol...and has an Inhanced toolbar and other gadgets on it.....The one feature i like is the auto answer for IM's, When someone sends you an IM while you are on here playing or working you can have it automatically send a reply to them....like,"Sorry i'm away from my puter right now but please send me an e-mail and i'll get back to at my earliest convenience"

Wait, wait, wait....did I read that right...that we are not permitted to "stock talk" on IFISH? I've seen every other subject from political to sports on here so why draw a line with stocks? Inquiring minds want to know!

Bev, for me it would be illegal because one of my brothers is a licensed stock broker that handles transactions and gives advice to us. For Ifish, we would prefer that no one took info from here to make important investment decisions. And if I'm sensing a little dig at having a few non-fishing subjects on here, remember that you have the option of only clicking on fishing topic threads. - RT
