Default While in Jennie's Site......................

From The AUP, (click AUP at the top of the screen)
Quote:
The Ifish web site is devoted to fishing on the north Oregon coast and other areas where people living here fish. Ifish was created by a fisherwoman named Jennie who continues to operate this site. It's a labor of love to bring people with a common interest together. In a few short years Ifish has grown to be the most popular fishing resource on the north Oregon coast.
<font size="2" face="verdana,arial,helvetica">:

I would like to see Ifish as it was meant to be. I'm tired of the direction it's been going as of late. When people make great posts, why do other people have to constantly smack them down, and then it spirals into a stopped post.

I like to see fish pictures, fish posts, fish talk, anything fish.

While in Jennie's site, let's keep it just that.

There are enough fish to go around. Some catch more, some catch less, some catch none.

I personally want to learn from the 10% that catch the 90%. With Ifish.net, you can.

It's only a fish.

Whiners, complainers, negative posters are not welcome. Go somewhere else. Hey, how about going fishing.

Right on SKP!! Well said my friend!

Unfortunately crabby people who gripe about everything and who always carry a chip on their shoulder seems to be a reoccurring, ongoing saga here on IFISH. Save the drama fo yo momma people! Get out and fish!!

Terry,

You missed all the fireworks in your post. It spiraled out of control, until Jennie zapped it. All the bickering, unbelievable.

How's Texas, any salmon down there?

Steve,

I heard it got out of control...Sorry things are degrading to this point because it creates a lot of work for Jennie & the Mods but I think it is a conspiracy to make me stop posting...

Just kidding people

No salmon down here in Texas...Just have to work on the new Fiscal Year Budget at the headquarters down here...

Hmmm...Budget...Think we can teach any of our legislators what that is all about...because the budget I submit, my region & I are accountable for living by it... What a wonderful concept...

This is a great post.....I find myself getting resentful towards other and then I start posting in a resentful manner. I will deal with my stuff and fix it.

I cannot remember who posted it, but someone judged the posters reply and said he did not know what he was talking about. He posted back with a total background of his experience which I was impressed by. I believe he was a newer guy.

I, by no means, am the best fisherman out there but I do catch a lot of fish. Just because I catch fish or have better equipment than some other people or the new guy does not mean I am better than and that is the attitude I see a lot. I see a lot of clicks and that is a turn off. A new guy or gal (Fry) makes a post and people assume they know nothing. Mind you, this does not apply to everyone. If the shoe fits wear it.

An example: I am a new guy, so I decide I am going to reply advice on a boating question. People assume I know nothing because I am new. When in all actuality I have commercial fished in Alaska in addition to being the boat engineer and operator sometimes. I worked on a local cruise ship that was 228 feet long and 50 feet wide. I was in charge of deck operations in addition to maintenance and some engineering. I also operated the boat from the mouth of the Columbia into the Snake river up to Lewiston Idaho. I now have enough sea time and experience to qualify through the Coast Guard to get my 500 ton license to operate a boat of that size on one of the hardest river to navigate in the world. But, I am the new guy. I do not know anything

I have met many great people off of IFISH who were more than a pleasure to be around. It is funny because the people we bicker too and about are probably people we would get along great with if we were out on the river together.

There is a lot of people who need help and not attitude, and there is a lot of people on here who have a great deal of knowledge. I still learn stuff and I have been fishing since I was five years old.

There have been days where I almost hung it up with IFISH, but there are the people who make it fun.

My apoligies if I offended anyone now or in the past, but this is just my observation.

SKP, thank for posting this.

I'm a new guy to ifish! I assume of myself that I know nothing. I listen to what others have to say because I have learned in over 40 years of fishing there is always something to learn. I love this site and the great information that is presented here. I learned yesterday about wrapping pipe cleaners, of all things around a hook, and making what looks like a killer lure. It's ok to agree to disagree agreeably. If this site ever goes down I might have to spend more time fishing! Wait! That's not a good point to make. Keep it coming guys and gals, this ifisher loves it.

Jokester,

I am picturing the Willy myself. I pulled the old Columbia and Snake River chart book out today. Since I worked and sometimes operated the boat I made a lot of notes for depths that were not on the charts (not for fishing) for depths so we did not run a ground.

I am glad I did especially for the Multnomah Channel. There are lot's of nice slots in there. We will be around the head of the channel or in the channel checking things out maybe. Channel 68
