Default Boat Trade in

Ok I have a 79 28foot searay chevy 350,100gallon fuel tank, columbia anchor system the woorks. The boat only has a touch over 1000 hours on it. I paid 12 grand a year ago. hears the question. I need a travel trailer. I don't fish a heck of a lot anymore but the older I get I need a trailer for bowhunting this cold wet state LOL. Do RV dealers take boats on trade? and if they do. Is it worth it? I just don't want to have to sit on the boat all winter. Id like to just get it done before I change my mind and start chaseing Tuna. I don't need a devorce right now LOL

Default Re: Boat Trade in

They will take boats in trade but they will only give you wholesale price for them. They will typically call around and see if they can find a boat dealer to buy it from them before they commit to a trade. If you know that going into the deal and you're o.k. with the price they offer then go for it. The problem with this time of year is that most dealerships won't want the boat for the same reason you don't, because it will sit all winter without selling. Just keep in mind there is a "winter" selling price and then there is a "summer" selling price and the two may be very different unfortunately!

Good luck and I hope you enjoy your new RV!

Unhappy Re: Boat Trade in

Sadly, that gorgeous Sea Ray is not worth much these days. My old '79 24-ft. weekender sold a few years ago for $5,000. Broke my heart. Wish I still had it.
