Default Calling all Field Testers

I get my STS a lot later than you folks. The Winter Steelhead edition hit my mailbox over the weekend. On my first read through I noticed a few new products that I'd be interested in reading users' views on:

1. New Corky/ Spin-n-glo colors: metallic watermelon and lime chartreuse mentioned. Any biters?

2. Berkley Power Bait egg clusters

3. John's Jigs -- now tied on Gamakatsus. Are the hooks strong enough for steelhead? The old models used to straighten out.

4. Maxima Pefexion mono. VERY interested to know how this fishes!

5. The "Nipper" jig (from Lindy Little Joe) -- looks like a sparsely tied marabou jig to me but from the author's description it's something special.

PS Reading about the four color options on Loomis rods reminds me of how conservative I've become. Of course it would make sense to have a different color for a different type of rod, but my initial reaction was "What? A Loomis in anything but black or dark blue isn't a Loomis! Henry Ford only needed one color for the Model T, after all."

I talk to the people at Lindy Little Joe often and we had a talk about the Nipper jigs the other day. They are causing quite a stir on the rivers over there, I guess they catch fish like crazy. Just goes to show ya you don't always need the fanciest jig in the world to catch fish! I recenty bought 3 Loomis plug rods in one of the new colors(red)looks just like the old IM6 models, I always liked that color.

While I haven't tried the Berkley egg clusters yet, they had some other single eggs (think they still do) that work much better than Jensen eggs. I use the guts out of Berkley power worms and swear by them as well as their scents. Whatever's in their mixtures works.

As for the color coordinated Loomis rods, I think colored electrical tape is alot cheaper and just as effective. Most home stores carry it in several colors.
