Hi!
My buddy Moldy45 got me setup on here !
I have been a crew member on his boat this past season and caught halibut and tuna! whoo hoo I am hooked
As i am typing this I am at a motel in washington and will be picking up a new boat in the morning 22 c-dory cruiser
I hope not to be chumming as much in my boat as i do in Moldy's boat lol.
I hope to meet as many of the dogs as I can at the T/A convention in newport

Are you sure about that Old Crow? I have heard of people chumming when using live bait for tuna before.

Not certain where you are getting your information. Here are the regs from page 83:



There was an earlier post about live bait being illegal in Oregon. Here are all the references to live bait in the regs:

Page 3:
You may not use live fish to catch fish in Crescent Lake.

Page 7:
It is unlawful to transport live fish between bodies of water.

Live fish may not be used or held for use as bait, except live nongame fish may be used in the ocean, bays and tidewaters when taken from the waterbody in which they will be used.

It is illegal:
Transporting live fish or live eggs from one waterbody to another or into the state without a permit from ODFW.

And of course the section from page 83 referenced above.

There was also an earlier post stating that cast nets were illegal. Here are the relevant regulations from page 8:

Welcome jdahlfin! See ya at the convention in Newport and then again on the ocean next spring/summer.

regarding chumming, take heart, I used to do that frequently(especially on diesel powered party boats), but since I'm running my own boat, it almost never happens. Once in a little more than two years.

I will second the chumming! yes he means puke lol.

John gets seasick off the fumes from my engine but he still fishes and dont ever complain. John has a open spot on my boat anytime
