Default Divers at Dawn

Last night while I was studying I heard a startling crash outside. Turns out a violent north wind was slamming our gate open and closed. Roomie and I both looked at eachother and didn't even have to say a word...we read eachother's eyes..."its gonna be ducky weather in the morning."

It didn't take long for us to check accuweather and confirm our AM-before-class duck hunt.

Alarm sounds off. We drove 10 minutes to our private 1/3 acre tank. The weather didn't disappoint. Cold 20-30mph winds with 45 mph gusts had ducks dropping out of the sky and 15 yards in front of our blind. No, they weren't mallards. No, they weren't redheads or cans. But, hey, they weren't spoonies. All ringnecks and a pair of widgeon. We limited and were out of there by 7:05am. I might add, I was 5 for 7... you know, trying to be conservative on shells. Made it to class with plenty of time. I love college.

Soak it up man!!!

Your little story here reminded me of Gordon Macquarrie tale, complete with the divers.

Divers are fun... but don't tell anyone that

Keep em coming man, Lots of folks will only read about days like you had.

Nice work again Seth! Man I'm really having to do well every weekend to keep up with the type of numbers you're putting up this year. You seem to be able to get out a lot, it's tough keeping up with you college kids ...oh wait...I love the freedom of college, don't you?

Mike, yeah I'm hollering from west Texas. No skipping class for hunting, but I sure love squeezing a sunrise hunt in before class!

Here's back at ya.
Btw the way water levels are about what they were that day we hit the big pond. Time to pull the tarp off the boat and get in the game.

Sweet hunt Seth! I must say that college is cool with all the free time and all (with the exceptions of midterms week ) hey maybe I should do a double major or something to keep the weekday hunt open . Anyway its cool to see you once again get out and wack em before class.
