Default Columbia river level?

Hey do any of my fellow ifishers happen to know if the river is huntable out at the sandy river delta? i would like to know so i don't get up at 4:30am on my day off for nothing! had that happen last year when we had all that rain toward the end of december and you take 2 steps off the bank and it was 5+ feet deep. Only been out there once this year on a bluebird day in october and there was NO water. thanks guys/gals.

I don't know what it's like up there but down here the water has come up about 5 feet since last weeks monsoon. You should have plenty of water but use due caution because it's dirty and deep. Good Luck.

So here's an idea that should help you out; maybe not right now, but for future hunts.

GO out hunting when conditions are as you like them (water level wise).

Then, log onto ifish.net and click on "River Levels".

Then select NOAA and click on the nearest spot along the Columbia to where you hunt (probably Vancouver).

Look at the river level WHEN you were out there (you'll have to do this within 1 day of the time you hunted) and remember or write this level down. That's you Baseline.

Then, at any later time, either after extreme weather periods or whenever and check to see what the river's level will be when you want to go hunting.
