Re: Mystery Duck...
Had to go to the book for that one. Comb duck. Put him together with the mullethead (tufted duck) that marshbum put up earlier, he may be able to straighten that hairstyle out.

I think the duck that you (Threemuch) posted is the Plumed Whistling-Duck.

Re: Mystery Duck...
You sure? This is a comb duck, aka knob billed duck.
Your guess on mine is wrong as well. A good guess, it looks like one.

I apologize your were right it is the Comb Duck. The picture that I had called it a Knob-Billed Duck, and didn't mention the name Comb Duck. But after researching it further I see that they are both the same bird. Good work!

Ding ding ding....Steelheadslayer is a winner on the second one. Good call.
I am telling you, anyone with a copy of the "Natural History of Waterfowl" is an instant waterfowl expert. It is an AWESOME read, and not written with an anti-hunter slant at all, which is good, since I think it is primarily targeted at non-hunters. I think my wife paid cover price for mine, $80. It's like $68 on amazon. I will bring my copy to the DA meeting tonight. My favorite coffee table book by far.

Re: Mystery Duck...
I found a great site last night at home that's listed in my favorites. When I get home and I can figure out how to post the link I will. It's awesome for finding birds and letting you know what they are.
