Was fortunate to spend last week with my Father-in-Law and some of his relatives for a week of elk hunting in Malhuer area out of Burns. The weather was great with fresh snow on Sat. & Thurs. We saw lots of elk and had the opportunity to tag out, but was only able to put down this one nice 6x6. All in all it was a great week, and learned a lot of new country.
We got this elk during one of our first organized drives. He came down the hill and stopped in the middle of a meadow after we believe he winded me about 100 yards down hill. My Father-in-Law, was sitting on a rock approx. 75 yards in the background from this angle. Shot hit his backbone and dropped him in his tracks.

Here is a picture of our camp before we tore it down on Sun. We hung out and ate in the large white tent, and slept in the canvas tent. It was a great setup.
