Default What A Second Ducky Day At The Coast!!! (Pic Added)

Well, here's part 2 to Teton's account of our weekend since he was absent for the dance.

It's the second day of our annual weekend trip, a tradition we've held for about 6 years now.

We headed out Sunday morning hoping to just at least shoot a few birds. Lightning rarely strikes twice for us at our second most favorite bay, but we had to try.

We mixed it up a little too. The "scouting" we had done previously had pinpointed the birds in an area we had been wanting to hunt for many years. This was the year.

It was just going to be a quick two hour shoot, hopefully get a bird or two each, and then get home.

After setting up, we though initially we weren't on the X. But after we had shot 15 birds in the first hour (which involved moving the decoys twice), we suddenly were looking at a pretty good day for four guys.

We ended with 21, 7 short of a full measure, since we ran out of water and time.

Wow, what a day. Most of the birds were picked out of flocks. Our shooting was on too. It all just worked. The dog got a little confused at times with all the birds on the water.

Anyway, pic to come.

Oh, and really, this weekend was epic. We had an engagement announced, a pregnancy announced, strained birds straps, and a band. Yah, Ruben shot a band on Saturday, the last bird, his first band. Woo Hoo!!!

Thanks guys for the memories! Time to start eating fresh bird again!!!

Yep, I missed out on Sunday for sure, but I got my fair share for Saturday. Looking forward to more pics! Again, great weekend with all the duckbrothers!

Yeah Buddy! Nice to hear y'all had such a great weekend!

It's a wonderful thing when everything lines up - moons, planets, stars, schedules...and the ducks! Looking forward to more of the story tonite (I can guess the engagement, but the pregnancy is a mystery, unless they're the same? )

Phwew! So give a hint - would this be a first child? Would this father-to-be accept a congratulatory adult beverage this evening? (D'you see me working? )

And no nasty-rumor intentions...my bad. Whomever it is, Congratulations, and see you tonite?

I'm taking quite a liking to Widgeon lately. I grew up a mallard guy, but since moving to the PacNW, I've come to love the taste of Wigeon, the way they work, and the way they communicate.
