Well three of us set out for the magic tank this morning before church, hoping for some dazzling dabbler action. What we were met with wasn't near our expectations, one guy's gun jammed after his first shot ...his hunt was over. My other buddy only made 1 of 5 shots (a bufflehead

). I ended up smackin the only three this morning that decoyed: bluebill (first ever!), gaddie, widgeon. We only hunted maybe an hour and a half.

Went back out to the same place for a quick jump shoot this afternoon and finished up my limit, adding a nother gad and a redhead

.

We were very disappointed, as we had high hopes for lots of quality birds. However, as they say, a bad day in the marsh is better than a good day at (work/school).

I'm diggin' on these posts from the lone star state (that's where you are, right?). Keep them coming.

One request. Can you do a some close ups of the birds we don't see here, like the red heads and canvasbacks (not that we don't see them here, but we don't see them here every weekend).

Other than that... keep hunting and telling us about it
