Default Anything happening on the Clack or Sandy?

I am bound and determined to break out the fishing gear soon (first time since October :depressed: ), and was wondering if anything good was happening on either of those rivers. I am without a boat, so I am confined to the banks.

If those two are out...then what about the Wilson? Others?!? If its a zipper situation, but you dont mind telling, you can send me a pvt message and I wont tell a soul. Dont want/need specific locations...just rivers that might produce.

Thanks all.

I'm liking the gauge for the Sandy right now. Only problem is it's too flat for my taste but I'm sure it's quite fishable. I haven't seen actually seen the river though so it might still be off-color. A quick call over the Jack's would be a good idea before heading that way.

CT, the color of the Clack was "ok" yesterday (2/1). The river has dropped today but the color is worse. I didn't drive up there to see, but I would guess Clear and or Deep Creek is pumping a bunch of dirty water into the Clack. If the river level stays down, you should find some fishable water above Deep Creek this weekend.

The Sandy is severely fishable, just a little windy...

I hit the Sandy Saturday and Sunday. It was high with about 1 to 1.5 ft visibility. I caught one on Saturday, and two on Sunday. It could be a little clearer, but it is producing some fish.

>>>just a little windy...<<<

Stay in Oxbow and avoid the East winds.

Read THIS
and if the East wind is howling you will be sheltered at the Oxbow drift until you get down around the Burns Hole or Greek Camp as some call it. Take out at Dabney on days like that unless you are masochistic....

A friend of mine went to the Sandy yesterday afternoon for about an hour and a half and caught a 16 1/2# hatchery fish on a six inch pink worm.

Was going to fish the clack today but it was blown so we decided to run up and see where the slide was. We went all the way up to the mine field and couldn't find where the mud was coming from Maybe a day or two before it is clears. We are going to hit it tomorrow anyway.

McIver Park/Rivermill dam area should be fishable on the Clack, Lot's of bank access too.
