Default Do you scent your......

Do you scent your braided line?? It seems it would be a good idea. I think braided line would hold humun and other scents in. I work construction and my hands get dirty/oily from work. My thumb on the spool would really get that scent into the line. Could be a coincidence but I think I catch more fish with new braided line. I can't afford to just buy PowerPro all the time. Would putting a scent on it mess the line up?

I don't think you'd get a lot of milage out of trying to put scent into your braided line. There just isn't enough "stuff" there in the line for the scent to hang onto. Now, good ol' parachute cord slinkies, that's a different story.

LOL Stew. Yarndog, I would not do it as some scents spoil. If you put it on your line, it may linger on it long enough to go bad, thus actually repeling fish. Just a guess.

Get in the habbit of using latex gloves to keep your scent off your gear.
