I love you guys - rip the coach but never give credit......
Who recruited the starters for the 01 Fiesta Bowl champions? Hmmmm..... must have been some other Riley.
When coaches like John Robinson select you as an assistant and win a few little insignificant bowl games then you must not have anything to do with it as just a lowly assistant coach.
Same goes for his stint at Linfield with Rutschman - Riley must have just been along for the ride as an assistant during their undefeated national title season.
Let see here, head coach in the CFL and wins 2 league titles and named coach of the year. Guess that isn't football.
Just so you know where I stand - character counts and Riley is heads above many others as well as being a decent coach.
Give him a little credit and support.

Re: OSU 33 - Usc 31
I hate to disagree with all yous.....I love to see any Oregon team win; but, well....the Pac-10 has now lost a little more respect. This was a big blow, they didn't loose to one of the "good" teams, but a bottom tier. Just more fuel to the fire.
We all know it means that the Pac is a tough league beating up on each other all season. The nay-sayers will say it means that even the best of the league isn't very good.
Would've rather seen them pull it out in the end.

Nope, just saying the Pac-10 just slipped down the line again....USC was our only respect nationwide, and they're gone.
Like I said, most west-coasters know how good the Pac really is. Unfortunately, when it comes to bowl games, we always get the shaft.

I guess that's your opinon and your entitled to it. What's a "top tier" team? Oregon? Last I checked they are only one win ahead overall (assuming a victory against PSU ) and tied in the PAC-10. I get so tired of this condescending Duck fan crap We'll see you in a month
The way USC played against WSU, ASU and UW they don't deserve to represent the PAC-10 in the BCS. From what I've seen this year, Cal is the best team in the PAC-10.

Big thanks should go out to USC and the 4 turnovers. Not to mention the field goat they elected to by pass. They deserved to lose the game. Hats off to the Beavers though.

Yeah, that remark doesn't hold water in my opinion either. I suppose the Ducks should have gotten the win over the Cougs so they could represent the Pac-10. My opinion is that the teams that lost didn't deserve to be at the top in the first place.
This is a thread to congratulate the beavs on an excellent job. Don't post to rain on a great day for them.
GO COUGS and GO BEAVS..... (Just this weekend)!!!

Re: OSU 33 - Usc 31
The PAC10 is the only conference where any team could knock off any other team on any given day. That says alot. But the east coast bias: read if it doesn't have a "s" or a "Big" in it it doesn't count or is no good!! would say otherwise. I'd rather watch a PAC-10 game any day.
Way to go Beav's!! you earned it!!

At least they did it without help from the booth...
Proof of the pudding is still ahead of us all...Ducks included.

Class act, there Bill ... HOW LONG will we have to listen to this? The Ducks are not responsible for Pac-10 officiating, regardless of whatever you want to accuse. I seem to remember a couple of reviews that went the Beavs way ...
I'm really sorry we won the Oklahoma game, OK? Ducks should have just walked off the field instead of scoring 2 touchdowns in under 2 minutes. That would have been the honorable thing to do I guess.

Congratulations again to the Beavers on a legendary victory.

Exactly. Congrats to the Beavs, but you have to admit SC has been barely eeking out W's in just about every game they have played. They have been lucky and overrated...not any more. Also if you look at the rest of their schedule, I see at least two more L's in their future, heck I will even throw you Duck's a bone and predict 3 L's.
Or---loss
Cal---loss
ND---loss
It should be understood that any winnings based on my predictions should result in a 10% donation to Jennie. Any loss should be considered a valuable lesson in the dangers of gambling.

Re: OSU 33 - Usc 31
I can't believe ANYONE in the entire NW would be bummed out about SC getting knocked off. I don't care what the east coast knuckleheads think, they have no respect for the Pac 10 anyway. The Toejams have gone undefeated in Pac 10 play long enough.
Awesome game Beavs.
My posterior still hurts after watching the UW game yesterday.

Jeez! Was it something I said????
Sorry about that...sometimes just cannot seem to resist.
Actually, my heart could have used that call the booth didn't give the Beavers just before the last touchdown...receiver's foot about an eighth of an inch into the white, but it wasn't conclusive so the catch was ruled complete...set up the TD...
Anyway, some of my best friends (ok, one, then) are Ducks and the Oklahoma call seemed like a lot of spilt milk...I was off on a hunt and didn't even get to see that one.
Point is, They were both big wins, but won't mean a lot without a lot of proving up in the next few Saturdays...
What the hell...go ducks!

I figure duck fans should be hearing about that robbery for at least a couple of years. Maybe longer if you keep scheduling non-conference games with Oklahoma.
Congrats Beavs! I sure am glad for you guys that game wasn't a couple minutes longer. I was doing some errands and they were up like 33-10, and then I got home and USC was going in for their final score and a hair away from tying it up. Yikes!
One great thing about sports is that the best team on paper doesn't always win.
I am hoping USC channels some of their dissapointment from this loss into their prep and execution for the Notre Dame game. That thing with Charlie Weiss last night on 60 minutes almost made me sick. That guy is a class act. Oh yeah, no he isn't. I hope USC hangs half a hundred on their sad D.
