Re: Skilling sentenced 24 years
Don't feel sorry for him at all. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

Re: Skilling sentenced 24 years
My old man lost 3/4 of a mill. Since he never had planned on that income for retirement it didn't hurt to bad other than what it said on paper. I'm sure he isn't crying over the sentence I'll tell you that. When most crimes are commited one person affects another or maybe a few, not hundreds or thousands. I say stick it to him!

Re: Skilling sentenced 24 years
So he has $45 million to give back? That says a lot right there.
Glad to hear someone is doing some jail time. Personal responsibility.... a concept many CEOs don't embrace.

Re: Skilling sentenced 24 years
I don't think life in prison would have been too light a sentence. I also believe he should lose everything he owns. I don't know anyone hurt by the scandal, but alot of people who worked their whole lives are now without retirement.

Re: Skilling sentenced 24 years
He isn't that young....24 years and 4 months could be a life sentence for him.

Hopefully. I wouldnt be too surprised if he received a presidential pardon though.
Maybe the stress will take its toll and his ticker would just quit...one less in this world.

Exactly!
When they first announced that Skilling, Ley and Bernnie Ebbers would go to trial, the first thing I said to a close friend was: They will probaby ALL get Presidential pardons from GW.
I hope not.

My wife said the same thing, that's why the hurried up to getter done, so they are in jail before the next administration. I think this one is about out of pull though.

Re: Skilling sentenced 24 years
Not from GW but maybe Bill, oops Hillary. As we are aware Mr. Clinton has vast experience in presidential pardons and these people do have money.
Sure can't wait for this election cycle to be over.

Oh yeah! I heard they were going to fly them out with black helos too! You know down to that secret government Island in the Caribean.
That Bush is one busy dude.
Would any of you conspiracy theorists want to bet a steak dinner on their pardons?

Re: Skilling sentenced 24 years
I believe due to the length of sentence, he will not go to a country club prison, but instead to a prison which houses all kinds of criminals. your standard scary freaks
Did anyone else read this?
