OK so I'm making this one easier. Just tell me without looking it up.

What started the seventh inning stretch?

From my understanding it was started by President Taft I beleive...
He was at a game and stood up to stretch ... when the president of the United States stands so should everyone else... So they did...
This is how it started.. At least that is IMHO...

that was my understanding for years but it is listed under myths. I know one fact the closet that clinton and lewenski used. Taft was in there with a woman and the secrect service was holding his wife a bay at the door. Maybe that is a myth too.

I am sure there are a lot of people who say I don't know and I don't care. Well that you don't know mean you are correct, in a manner of speaking!! That you don't care is another story.

OK here it is in a very cut down version.

There are references to something like the 7th inning stretch back into the beginning of baseball. Hard wooden benches may be the instigator we will never know. Yes it has be well publisized that Taft started the 7th inning stretch but I, my opion only, think that Taft was probably what gave it a permant place in baseball. So Mark well done
