Any angler groups that have monthly meetings?
I'm trying to get a good number of different opinions on this:
What are some of the fishing groups in the N. Oregon area that have regular monthly MEETINGS, where we can meet fellow fishermen on a monthly basis?
Thanks.

Oregon Bass and Panfish Club did many moons ago( when I was a member). I dunno if they are still active or not.

You did not say what part of N. Oregon you were looking for, or what type of fish, but here are some ideas to get you started. Try contacting nearby sporting goods stores, fly fishing shops, an ODFW office, OSP Fish & Wildlife Trooper and similar places. The Association of Northwest Steelheaders has a website that lists their locations. Many local newspapers list upcoming meetings in their service area.

Check the Thursday Oregonian sport section. They list all activities for groups that have called in meeting dates and times, demonstrations at retailers, and classes being held.

"Fishing Sober Group" meets on a monthly basis for people who are in recovery for fishing and fellowship. Our next meeting is on Feb 6th at 7:00. E-mail me for information if interested.

Re: Any angler groups that have monthly meetings?
To clarify a bit, I'm talking about mostly the Portland area, and I'm open to any kind of fish.
Any more ideas, guys?
Thanks!

Does Trout Unlimited have much in the way of meetings in the NW Oregon area?

The lower Columbia Walleye Club meets first Thursday each month (this month is on the 12th due to the Sportsman show). They do monthly outings and tournaments. Great bunch of guys (and gals).

Re: Any angler groups that have monthly meetings?
This coming Wednesday is the Sandy Chapter of the Northwest STeelheaders meeting. This month we are featuring Mark Anderson of First Cast Jigs. You can click on the link below in my signature for our very out of date web page. Or you can simply come to the meeting which is open to the public. Meeting starts at 7:30 but folks usually arrive around 7:00 to shoot the breeze. Here is a map to the meeting site which is in Troutdale right behind Jack's Snack and Tackle at Glen Otto Park.
