Pray for Pop's again (UPDATE)
My mom just called and dad is back at Kaiser on Sunnyside and will be undergoing another angiogram within the hour. I gotta take off in a few minutes to be with them but would like to ask for your prayers in this matter.
He is not doing very well and the last two weeks have been extremely hard on him with lots of pain and frustration. Ask that God will pull off a miracle here for him and touch his body. This is a very serious matter. I'll report back later.
Thanks for your prayers.
Bernie

Re: Pray for Pop's again (UPDATE)
Thanks everyone. Just got back from the hospital a bit ago and am soaking in the information that the doctor gave to mom and I. A stint that was put in a couple of years ago and recleaned just last January 03 has become blocked again. 85%+ blockage there and two other smaller ( possibly inoperable) arteries are closing off with barely a trickle of blood flowing through them.
Doctor Hedmon is speaking with Dr. Au at St. V's and will hopefully come up with a game plan to work on dad without the need for open heart surgery. By-pass surgery is not out of the question right now. Dr. labeled his condition perplexing at best and will be looking at using the new medicated stints that came out last April. We have already tried the radiation treatment and that has fail to keep plaque from building around the opening of the stints.
keep dad in your prayers if you will. God has revield the problems and now we are looking to him for the answers and to guide the Doctors decision making processes.
Thank you all that prayed this afternoon for this great man of God.

Re: Pray for Pop's again (UPDATE)
Okay here is the update: Dad will be at St. Vincents on Thursday at 7:30 am. They will try the clean the stint out routine again (which is a waste of time) and possibly put a stint within a stint (the new medicated type). I am very nervous this time for some reason. Not comfortable with the whole thing and really am asking you to remember him in prayer. Stuff like this is never routine at all and I am fearful that the doctors are trying to avoid what really needs to be done (bypass).
Thanks for your prayers and support.

Re: Pray for Pop's again (UPDATE)
REPORT. Pop made it through the proceedure today in good form. But perhaps it may be his last proceedure of this type as his arteries are in pretty bad shape.
Last year about this time if you will remember Dad went in to have two stints put in and one stint cleaned out and treated with radiation. Unfortunatly that artery has since collapsed and dried up so this proceedure today was extremely important to keep him going for "awhile". Most likely in a year or so he will be facing the same problems again and at that point they will once again have to do by pass surgery on him. So far he has had two bypasses totally collapse and degenerate. Not much left in there to keep him going.
Doc said that he should notice improvement but most likely will still live with engina type pains until a bypass becomes necessary. The good news is he is still around and looking forward to fishing saturday in the attempt to get his first springer of the year. I secretly hope he does.
Thanks so much for your prayers and support my friends. Very appreciated.
Bernie

Re: Pray for Pop's again (UPDATE)
That is good news. Glad he's looking forward to a springer and if anyone on the river catches one I hope it's him.

Re: Pray for Pop's again (UPDATE)
Everyone thank you so much for your prayer for Dad. He is feeling much better but still has a little pain. He was not feeling up to chasing a springer last weekend but perhaps the first of March time will be his best starting point.
Jerry, thanks for your kind words. We still need to get out again and fish together.

Re: Pray for Pop's again (UPDATE)
Bernie,
Let's just say, I don't visit this area of Ifish much. But, when I saw the topic, I had to check it out and see what was up with your dad. I really hope is feeling better and back out on the water soon. You are truly a role model for me when it comes to my relationship with my father. In fact we are already making plans for fishing together for springers.

Re: Pray for Pop's again (UPDATE)
Woody, dad and I might not agree on when where how but we do enjoy our fishing together and catching fish. I enjoy his company and his friendship. One of the best friends I've ever had in this life. I can only hope my relationship with my boys and my daughter will be the same when my time comes around.
BTW really enjoyed fishing with you and hopefully we can get together for a make up trip to show ya what it can really be like sturgeon fishing.
Thanks again for your compliment and kind words.
Bernie
