Default Rain

Did I dream it?
Sometime last week, I THOUGHT I heard something about a tropical rain storm where everything gets soaked. They were excited, talking about ALOT of rain.

By evening, the forecast had changed or was gone, or I had dreamt the whole thing.

I mean... there was NO talk of it. Like it hadn't happened.

I guess I was dreaming.

I am going nuts, and my mouth is dry. I need rain. I need to look up into the sky and have the clouds wet my tongue.

The salmon need to come up river! The bite needs to turn!

Sure, people are getting fish.. here and there-- but I vote for here, and there and EVERYWHERE!

For some reason, the people at NOAA have found it funny to leave a Hazardous weather warning advisory in red letters up on both Portland
http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/total_foreca...mp;zone=orz001

and Tillamook:
http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/total_foreca...mp;zone=orz001

websites.

What is this? Some kind of "nother" joke?
Some kind of "click on me again, you idiot!" link?

Yes, I click on it. Daily. Sometimes multi daily. Perhaps it's changed. Perhaps this time it's for reals?

Nope. Just a permanent 'fooled ya' link.

It states:

"There is no warning at this time..."

Then why is it there? Huh? Why?

I've had it. The Kilchis river is low, clear, and looking all the heck like mid August, not mid October.

The leaves are filling the deeper pools and absorbing what little water is left, there.

No salmon can live in that pool! Nothing can live in it! It is brightly colored plaid carpet and fish don't live in rooms with carpeting.

Oregon is drying up like a prune and the weather is still producing plums. What is going on, here???

That's it. I don't like the ocean fishing scene much, but if that's what I'm going to have to do to go get the fish, so be it. I'm on the next charter across the bar.

Can you tell that I've really really had it?

I have!

I, too, want the rain. Need the rain, almost. I like how it cleans things. Like the smell, too.

Yes, bring on the rain.

...and pretty soon I'll be saying,

Yeah, I like rain... but where is the sun? Can we have ONE warm day?

The elusive chanterelle will rise after this coastal drizzel. However I must go to sea tomorrow, so, they will elude my intended chase.

From what I understand you were fishing next to my brother and his friend Carl for part of the time. I almost went to the Siletz on friday with my wife, except it was just to much with my injured back :depressed: Might be down there on next Thursday with my 14 footer. The choices are Siletz, Nehalem, or Roseburg to look at new boats (with wife's blessing). I'll know for sure after I talk with Doug later this week.
