New Job!!!
Thank you everyone for all the prayers. I found out today I got the job! I don't think I would have gotten it without prayer, because it truly was amazing how I got to the first interview when the roads were iced over.

Re: New Job!!!
Sounds like someone got a goodman for the job! Can you tell us about it? And everybody, remember to praise and thank the Lord, this is His doing!

Re: New Job!!!
Yep. The whole family said a prayer of thanks and praise. It's as an insurance adjuster. Good pay and benefits. I won't say where it is on the internet for personal safety reasons. After I start the new job, I'll tell the story about getting to the first interview. It's a doozy, really shows the hand of God.
So no more long commute, no more working Sundays, I'll get to retire someday, and best of all, no helping grandpa dump his retirement into a poker machine. I've been talking to the bartenders we hired, and they've got stories about people gambling. People beating up the machines when they don't win, people doing weird superstitious rituals before they plug their money in, lots of strange and disturbing stuff. I'll be getting out a couple of weeks before the machines go in. I've seen several customers suffer enormously from gambling addictions, to the point where family members take over all of their finances while they still have part of their retirement money left, and pay their bills, dole out spending money, etc. If I stayed, I think I'd eventually end up getting fired for not doing things to keep people at the machines. I'm aware that the vast majority of people have no problem. But with the 5% who do, with the number of people who come into our establishment, it could amount to scores of people every week or every month who, unlike with alcohol, I can't just take their drink away if they've had too much.

Re: New Job!!!
Good job HB. As you've been a people person it should be a good move, just dont let the negativity get to you. One of my fishing buds is a adjuster for farmers and he has filled me in on the ups and downs of the industry.
Keep the faith strong and all will be well.
Mike
